Franklin Southampton

Y’all are invited out to the country for Ivor’s Christmas Parade on Wednesday, December 14 at 3:00pm. Be sure to stick around after the parade for delicious homemade Brunswick Stew, great live entertainment, fun Christmas carols and the lighting of the Cody Stallard Memorial Christmas Tree. Light up the holiday season on the downtown Hampton waterfront…literally! The 28th annual Downtown Hampton Lighted Boat Parade returns on Friday, December 9. More than 20 boats are expected to participate in this free nautical light show. Those who don’t have a vessel, but want to join the action, can board the Miss Hampton II tour boat. A contribution of an unwrapped toy that will be donated to Toys for Tots is required. LEARN MORE

Virginia Beach

Get dazzled with a three-mile spectacle of nautically-themed holiday lights with the accompaniment of a selection of holiday music at the iconic McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The light show, now through January 1, allows you to take your car right up onto the boardwalk as you drive through a seaside wonderland set-up along the edge of the ocean’s tide.  Just pack the family in the car and head to the beach! Downtown Smithfield’s Christmas Parade is as charming as the town itself. Competition between the local dance studios is fierce, and the rest of the community joins in with floats, bands and marchers. The parade takes place Saturday, December 17th at 10 a.m. in downtown Smithfield. LEARN MORE


The Norfolk Botanical Garden Dominion Garden of Lights is a holiday tradition in Norfolk! This drive-through experience is open through December 31 and includes an extravagant display of half-a-million twinkling lights that illuminate the Garden, and features a fire pit with s’mores and hot chocolate, nightly family activities and more. Tickets are $25 per car (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) or $20 per car (Monday – Thursday). LEARN MORE
