Like a rising tide, tourism lifts us all. And a strong local economy means better schools, services and overall quality of life.
According to Virginia Tourism Corporation’s 2019 report, visitors spent $5.5 billion in Coastal Virginia alone, resulting in over $253 million in annual state tax revenue and $196 million in local tax revenue. Additionally, tourism generated over 49,000 jobs in the region with a payroll of $1.1 billion.
